About us

My name is Mariia Touronen and I'm the owner of Zhamanen Kennel & Cattery.  We are living in a countryside, in a small village called Sammaljoki, wich is located in South-Finland (about 250km north from Helsinki). Sammaljoki is a part of a bigger town called Vammala.

Home, sweet home! ;-)

Briards & birmans are the biggest passions of my life! My aim is to breed healthy & friendly animals with correct, real breed type. But as a breeder, the most important for me is that the owners are satisfied to their familymembers, no matter what kind of faults they might have!

Kennel ZHAMANEN was registered in FCI 12.12.1997. I'm the member of Finnish Kennel Club since 1986 and Finnish Briard Club since 1992. My first dog came in to my life when I was 10 years old, he was unforgettable mixed breed male (½ miniature schnautzer, 1/4 cockerspaniel & 1/4 finnish spitz) called Niku, who lived 15,5 years of age! My first briard was born 1992, she was fawn female Zodiac Wizard Radieuse "Tosca", and she was the beginning of my everlasting love to this wonderful breed - BRIARD!

He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.

ZHAMANEN Cattery was registered in FIFe 1998. I'm the member of PIROK, wich is part of SRK (Suomen Kissaliitto), wich again is Finnish sub-organisation of FIFe. I'm also member of Finnish Birman Club since 1997 and Birman Breed Council since 2004. My first birman cat came in to my life 1998, she was a wonderful sealtortie female Recknagel Demimoor "Kilpinen". I have always especially loved torties, reds & cremes, and these are the colours I'm mainly going to consentrate on in the future! But as I like all birman colours, I will have them all in my breeding program.

Here in my homepage you can find some information of my dogs & cats, my previous and upcoming litters, the show- and other news I have etc. As you can see, I have several briards and birmans in my breeding program, but not all of them are living with me; most of them have their own families to live with, because I think it's the best for the animals to have their own "privacy"; this way they can have enough attention from their own human "parents"!:-)

I hope you to enjoy your visit - and welcome again!!

Naiset ja kissat tekevät mitä lystäävät, ja miesten ja koirien on vain totuttava siihen.
