Aino had her 2nd birthday last week so this was a good time to take her to the health checks. The results are added to Aino's own page, and when the FKC has the x-rays evaluated those results will be added, too.

Updated the Results page and changed a fresh picture to Karo's, Nessa's and Aino's page, also added some new pics to the galleries. The show season is over with us for this year, the next show will be next spring. Poor Peppi got the dreaded pneumonia again, we are trying to get her healthy again. About a week ago the annual G-meeting was held at the Hietala's, we had a grand day out with Aino and Nessa. Nessa The Whippersnapper had no trouble with adjusting to the pack of 49 wolfhounds at all!.

The spring has arrived and the winter snow is only a distant memory. We had two patients; Aino cought kennel cough and poor Peppi pneumonia, both have recovered well as you can see from the picture above. Peppi's pups are all in their new homes and I took Aino to a local fun match - she was chosen the Best In Show!

My Peppi's pup Gogamagog's Untold Story was awarded the Junior Winner title in the Finnish Winner show in December. Well done, Little Unski! Peppi herself had her eyes checked and the heart ultra sound scanned during the autumn, she cleared both examinations with flying colours.
Last year wasn't so good to all my hounds; it appeared on November that Sibbe has heart problems and Karo was operated for pyometra in December. So far the year 2005 hasn't been smiling at me, I had an accident at work and lost the tip of my thumb. Autch!

Gardener's Cazavinalime aka Vina has been escorted successfully to her new home country Sweden at the end of June.

A lot has happened recently, Sibbe's pups all have new homes, Brokenwheel Germanium moved to Germany and Gardener's Cazavina Lime is about to make her trip to Sweden. My own bitch puppy Onelikes Speedy Grown aka Satu flew to the Netherlands and joined Wilma and Magiel Marijnissen's happy pack of 3 wolfhounds and a Chart Polski. Satu was tested for PSS and passed the test with flying colours. Good luck, Satu!
Aino's granddam Kaelyn's Delta of Hickory Knoll went to the Rainbow Bridge this spring, what a great personality and a beautiful old lady. She will be gone but certainly not forgotten.

Aino has arrived! I picked her up yesterday from the airport through one of the worst snowstorms in years, what a journey! She had travelled well, of course she is a bit confused, tired and homesick but she will settle down in a few days. The rest of the pack have a little mixed feelings for her but I think they will adjust in time, too. Aino has already a page of her own and I am working with her gallery.

The Prince has a Bride! 22th Nov 2003 was the day the little girl Aino was born in the USA. She will arrive here in a few weeks! Sibbe and me, we are SO excited! Also changed the pics on this page as well as the front page.

A lot of new stuff coming through pretty soon! I am adding a pictorial story of my dream trip to USA which I made in September, also there is going to be a Family Album in Sibbe´s gallery! And last but not least, there is going to be a whole section called Results where all the show, coursing and racing results will be listed! So stay tuned, folks!

Last week Nessa The Whippet finally received her racing licence! Now I may enter her to the real racing events, only too bad that she is 0.3 inches too tall. That means she can´t take part in any international racing event at all. Bummer! Sibbe has been an active boy in the show ring. On 29th of June he was shown in Ulvila under the Irish judge Mrs Joyce O´Connor. She graded him Excellent but that was all. Today he was shown in Jyväskylä and was awarded his 2nd CC and was also the Best Of opposite! I am so proud of him! The judge was Mrs Anita Gielisse from the Netherlands. You can see the latest photo of him - taken yesterday - on his own page.

Sibbe attended two shows last weekend, on 7th he was shown under the Finnish IW breeder judge Mrs Tuula Savolainen, who liked him a lot, gave him the grading Very good. The next day we were in Salo where the Finnish judge Marja Salminen loved him and awarded him his very first CC! It took me almost a week to land from the Cloud 9... Also added new photos to everyone´s galleries and even changed a new stacking photo to Nessa´s introduction page.

More show news: Showed Sibbe on 17th May in Leppävirta under the Belgian judge Mrs Rita van Mechelen. She liked him and gave him the res CC. Yesterday was also a show day, this time in Helsinki. Our English judge Mrs Marion Spavin graded him Excellent and placed him 3rd in junior class. I was pleased, Sibbe wasn´t behaving...eh...let´s say he was in a wild mood and wanted to be a clown...

Sibbe was shown for the very first time in Lahti International Dog Show on 27th April under the judge Mrs Elke Peper from Germany. It wasn´t our day, he was graded Very Good and that´s it. But his cousin Am Ch Oxmoon Brogan of Limerick took the breed in the Irish Wolfhound Club of America´s Specialty this weekend! Way to go, cousin!
